Can one with Aids with a t-cell count of about 200 contact a virus or opportunistic infection as a result of working with garbage - scraping food off of plates, emptying garbage can into dumpster and pushing dumpster to pick up area. No gloves or protective are mask worn. Would that type of work be considered hazardous to their health?
I don't think that those activities carry specific OI risks. There are, of course, foodborne infections, but the food has to be ingested or there has to be hand-to-mouth contact from the infected food source to pose a risk. If you are concerned, why not wear the kind of rubber gloves that are worn for dishwashing and housecleaning? And make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly before you take a break to eat.
