Using lubricant inside the condom

I'd like to know ... Buying condoms can be confusing nowadays. In trying to help my + partner purchase condoms ..we both had a few questions. First issue was size..the usual size isnt wide enough. The only other brand there was one called Magnum. We wanted extra wide condoms but weren't sure if they'd be at risk of falling off. Then again, you certainly don't want them bursting. Any suggestions on this issue would be appreciated. We don't really want to "try" a million types that may be inadaquate.I heard from a male friend that one brand Lifestyles...offers more room in the regular size they have. I have no you? Another comment...i read in one HIV prevention article that you can put a small amount of spermacide inside the tip of the condom to offer a little protection. Have you heard this..cause you wouldnt want the lube sliding the condom off either...???? thanks.

Thank you for your question.

In regard to putting a spermicide inside a condom, this can be both a good thing and a bad thing. On the good side, putting a small amount of lubricant or spermicide inside the tip of the condom may increase sensitivity for the man wearing the condom. In addition, it may, to a very limited extent, reduce the risk for STDs and pregnancy. On the bad side, if too much lubricant or spermicide is put inside the condom, this can cause the condom to slip off. If you are going to put a spermicide or lubricant inside the condom, care must be taken to only put a small amount inside the tip of the condom.
