Hi
I just want to know if is it safe to take trivenz while I'm pregnant. I founded out that I'm HIV + and my doctor prescribe me take HIV treatment, I went to the chemist with the prescription and they gave me Trivenz. When I'm reading the paper inside the box of Trivenz it's written that it should not be used during pregnancy. I'm confused now Wethersfield should I take it or not. Please help

Trivenz (known here in the US as Atripla) is an acceptable treatment during pregnancy. Previously, there was concern about the use of the efavirenz part during the first trimester of pregnancy, but larger and more recent analyses, such as
this one from the World Health Organization, conclude that " efavirenz can be included as part of first-line therapy in adults regardless of sex, and that it can be used throughout pregnancy, including during the first trimester." Recently, the US Department of Health and Human Services panel concluded similarly.
So, yes, I'd take the prescribed Trivenz. The goal of HIV treatments is to attain viral suppression; doing so is the best way to ensure your health and the health of your baby.
