Just over a year ago I developed a flaky scalp. This has since exploded to include a dry flaky face and patches on back and trunk which my doctor diagnosed as seborrheic dermatitis. Nizoral and cortisone don't seem to help. Is HAART the only way to treat seb derm in people with HIV? I tested poz in Apr 06. My last labs were cd4 580, % 25, VL 3,400. I was hoping to put off meds put this skin condition is ruining my life.

Seborrheic dermatitis is more common among persons living with HIV than the general population. There are a number of
treatments for SD, though treating HIV alone appears to help with the frequence or severity of SD.
