red spots

how big are these red spots and what are all the signs of hiv and when do they start and how long do they last i really need to no i am very scared

The rash seen in primary (new ) HIV infection is very nonspecific and usually doesn't last long (Often a matter of hours). It occurs most commonly on the upper trunk (front and back), neck and arms. It is usually a blanching rash (meaning that if you press on the spots they turn white for a few seconds). THe rash usually is not that helpful in making the diagnosis of HIV Infection-the best clue is a history of needle sharing or unprotected sex with an HIV infected person in the last several weeks. KH
