Dear Doctor! How low can a pregnant woman's T Cell count go and still be considered normal. Would you be concerned about a T cell count of 580 in a pregnant female. How likely is it that one can receive a false positive HIV test and Western Blot during pregnancy. I know pregnancy affects this in some way. Thank You
I don't think we know the answer to your first question, because it is not the standard to measure T cells in pregnant women who are not infected with HIV. A false positive is possible on a screening HIV antibody test, but extremely unlikely on a western blot confirmatory test.
