hello, does the existence of pgl necessarily indicate that a patient should begin treatment immediately? Or is the start of treatment purely based on the cd4 count of the patient? Thank you

Persistent generalized lymphadenopathy alone is not necessarily an indication for initiation of HIV treatment.

That said, CD4 count isn't the only parameter for starting treatment- in patients with serious HIV symptoms (like fever, weight loss) or any AIDS defining illness (such as PCP, KS or lymphoma), medications for HIV should be started, irrespective of CD4 count or HIV viral load. BY
