Dr.Bob,thank you for taking the time out to read my letter. I am a 25yr old straight male living in south africa and i am worried about an incident that happened a week or so ago. I,totally out of character, had sex with an indian sex worker. She used protection, two condoms in fact and the sex did not last too long(2 or so minutes). Im positive the condom didnt break as she would of felt it when i came as well as i noticed it when she pulled the condom off me.(with a towel). However,i have since developed a cold and felt a bit weak for a few days...
What are my chances of contracting HIV after this once off drunken incident?
Please help and send me banking details so i can donate to your fund
p.s. you are a saint
If your "incident" was latex-condom-protected and the condom did not fail, your HIV risk would be essentially nonexistent.
We do not recommend "double bagging," i.e. using two condoms simultaneously, as the friction between the two can cause the latex to rupture. However, this obviously was not the case for your brief two-minute mattress mambo.
Your symptoms are not at all worrisome for HIV. Details for making direct wire transfer of funds to The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation are listed below. Additional donation information is available on the Foundation's Web site at www.concertedeffort.org.
