Cut my hand at a friends house on a clean pocket knife which caused an openly bleeding wound. I used the same bathroom to wash up that my friend uses to shoot up his drugs. He bleeds a lot because his veins are collapsed so he sticks himself upwards of 10 times per use. He is also Hep C+.
I did not see any visible traces of blood, and when I went to the sink I washed my hands with soap and water followed by a couple minutes of applying hand sanitizer to the wound.
I'm worried that I picked up some of his blood while I was using the sink handles and rubbed it into my wound while I was washing up. Is this a rational concern?
Thanks for your question,
This is a rational concern since you're just trying to maintain your health. BUT, there isn't really any risk in what you're talking about.
Just by the fact that you didn't see any blood gives us our answer. A blood drop so tiny that you can't see it, is not going to infect you.
Hope this helps,
