Are my numbers still considered "low"

Question

Hello, I curious, I was diagnosed just over 10 years ago and have never had any treatment and pretty much have always been near the undetectable range and had high CD4 counts.

My most recent numbers are: CD4 1150, RNA Copies 19426, Log copies 4.29

Do the copies still indicate low viral load?

Answer

A moderate level viral load. There is no hard and fast rule on this, but a low viral load is usually one below 1000, and a high viral load is usually one above 100,000. If you have had a viral load that was barely detectable and is now 19,000, that would be a significant change and would usually require a repeat and if still elevated, and investigation as to why.
