Hey Dr, I had unprotected sex about 2 weeks ago...About a week later i started to get severe headaches and my body felt very weak...especially on my left side...Right now my headache is easing up but my body feels weak, mainly in my legs (hamstrings and calf muscles)...It still seems to be more concetrated on my left side...I have had lower back problems all summer long but for the past week (during my headache and body ache) my lower back hurts 24/7...Am I at risk for HIV?? Are these symptoms i just described very common when first infected with HIV??? Or can this be back related???? Thanx a lot...
These symptoms probably have nothing to do with HIV. They are much more likely to be due to anxiety about your unprotected sex and potential exposure to infection or to a lower back problem.
I advise using precautions every time you have sex. If you don't have unprotected sex, then you will spare yourself these anxieties and worries. You may also want to see someone about your back.
