If my body is not immune to hepatitis b what does this mean?
This means that you are susceptible (can catch) hepatitis B.
Often these words are used when the blood tests for hepatitis B do not show reactive, or levels of, hepatitis B surface antibody (sAb).
Ideally a person would be vaccinated in this case, to acquire protection against hepatitis B.
Sometimes people with chronic hep B infection are told they are not immune, because they are already infected. In this case the blood test for surface antigen (sAg) is positive or reactive.
