Question
what is the average life expectancy for babies born with HIV? with and without treatment? how much imfluence does their nutritional care have? thanks
Answer
Babies who do not receive treatment for HIV generally have a very short life (under three years). This is because their immune system is destroyed before it is developed. With treatment, they may live for many years. One of my "babies" is now fifteen. Nutrition is important for children and for adults with any chronic illness such as HIV, but cannot make up for the effectiveness of medication.
Be well.
