I have been taking 3 in 1 pill (tenofovir, lamivudine, evafirenz) for 9 mths. My cd4 climb up and i m comfortable to adhere due to convenience.
But due to in my country out of stock they switch me to truvada+efavirenz 2pills last month. I heard its quite similar. However coming month they will switch me to Duviral (lamivudine+zidovudine) 2 times a day + efavirenz 1 times a day. Due to truvada also out of stock. I m worry it will cause resistant cause keep changing meds.
I have been thinking buying teevir overseas instead of taking duviral. And switch back to lamivudine+tenofovir+efavirenz once available again in my country.
Teevir more similar to (lamivudine+tenofovir+efavirenz)?
Would it be better? Kindly help advise. I believe many hiv patient in my country have same worries n concern now.
Switching between those options may vary the rate/type of side effects you experience but if you are doing well (HIV levels suppressed/OK CD4 counts) then in most cases resistance will not develop due to the switches. KH
