What are the early indications of pcp? Does the onset of the disease progess rapidly or slowly? Thanks...
IN HIV+s, PCP usually develops gradually. But once you are sick enough to need to be in the hospital, things can go downhill pretty quickly (by this time you may have had PCP for weeks to months).
The typical indicators are: dry (nonproductive) cough, fever, fatigue, chest discomfort; then, people will be short of breath with exertion; and finally, people will be short of breath at rest.
