The relationship people have to their HIV status can be as unique as their fingerprint. While many continue to deal with feelings of stigma and internalized shame, some feel pride in their HIV-positive status and the courage they exhibit by living openly with HIV.
Adding further to that conversation is blogger "Living With HIV" from London, England. After a bout of Googling led to the surprise that "HIV defines me" yielded few results and "HIV doesn't define me" did the opposite, he decided to write a blog describing how, whether or not he cares to admit it, HIV does define him.
HIV defines me and there's nothing wrong about it. It doesn't define me as much as, say, my nationality or my taste in music, but it is part of my life and part of what made me the person I am today.
