Can Putting Chewing Tobacco In Transmit HIV or Other

Question

I was picking up a lawn mower from a guy I don't know. He cut his hand with a razor blade knife while we were loading the mower. Throughout this time, he was touching the steering wheel and other levers, etc. on the mower. I also shook his hand and he had been bleeding, then cleaning it with a paper towel. I then got in my truck, and touched my steering wheel and gear shifter. If at some point in all of that, I scratched my eye or something, could I have gotten HIV/Hep/HPV? Also, if I put in a chew (chewing tobacco) after touching the lawn mower and my truck steering wheel, could that transmit HIV?

Answer

If there was no visible blood on your hands I see no risk. Small or trace amounts of blood would not concern me at all.
