Question
I am 31, from Indonesia, I have been diagnoses as HIV positive since April 2015 and begun arv treatment since August 2015. I got good news that I recieve a scholarship due my grades and performance at work.
My question is, is that possible to continue arv treatment for free in other country? I am thinking about Netherland or Australia, because my major for master degree there are suit me much.
If it is not, how is the procedure to stay on my country's free treatment (arv therapy) while i study abroad. (this is last option i thought)
Thank you for your answer.
Best Regards
Answer
As a student in The Netherlands or Australia, you could be eligible for their state insurance plan which would provide your medications at little or no cost. Check with each country's websites about how they handle insurance and HIV medications.
In your country it will depend on whether their rules permit you to live elsewhere and still get the medications. In some plans, as long as you maintain a local mailing address it can be possible.
