Manuel da Cruz, administrative director of Luanda sanitarium hospital, said that at least 106 people died of TB at the facility in this year's first quarter, the Angop news agency reported. From January to March, 127 people died of other contagious diseases in Luanda, 12 of which were linked to HIV/AIDS. He said 766 new cases of TB were reported, including 28 children. During the same period in 2002, 2,027 TB cases and 100 TB deaths were reported, he said.
