Douglas J. Ward, M.D.
Dr. Ward received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, followed by a medical doctorate from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital of Cornell Medical Center. His fellowship at the National Institutes of Health involved research in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, investigating the immune response to filarial infections. Dr. Ward has received board certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. In addition, Dr. Ward is an investigator with both the Washington Regional AIDS Consortium, a national community-based AIDS research network, and HIV Outpatient Study, a CDC sponsored national observational database. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Greater Washington Infectious Disease Society. Dr. Ward has co-authored numerous articles on HIV and AIDS in such publications as New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Infectious Diseases, and American Journal of Medicine. He has also been contributed to over twenty abstracts that have been presented at conferences, nationwide.
