This is the 12th annual World AIDS Day. And as the century comes to a close, according to the joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, more than 33.6 million men, women and children around the world are infected with HIV. This year's theme, "Listen, Learn, Live" reflects the fact that around half of all people living with HIV were infected before their 25th birthday. World AIDS Day is about raising awareness, reaching out to those at risk, and expressing support for people already infected.
