VAVA

The Visual AIDS Vanguard Awards (VAVA) reinforce the culture, history and mission of Visual AIDS as embodied by arts patrons, arts workers and especially artists themselves. We honor their commitment to AIDS advocacy, education, prevention, and their support of artists with HIV/AIDS. A special award, named in honor of the late New Museum curator and Visual AIDS co-founder Bill Olander, recognizes a person living with AIDS. The Annual VAVA ceremony is held during Visual AIDS's Spring Benefit in New York City.
