2004 Northwest Annual

CoCA presents the 2004 Northwest Annual; a juried exhibition now in its fifteenth year, from October 9 through November 20. The Northwest Annual is open to all professional artists residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Northwest Annual is an opportunity for artists to gain regional and national exposure and serves as a vital showcase for experimental work and emerging talent. Exhibition and Honorarium for California-Resident Artists

Kala Art Institute presents the first artists competition for a group or one-person exhibition. The competition includes an exhibition at the Kala Gallery that will take place from October 14-November 27, 2004. Selected artist(s) will also receive a cash award. The competition is open to California-resident artists working in all media (not including crafts, furniture, and jewelry). The exhibition is devoted to the discovery and introduction of emerging artists and under-recognized artists who are currently residents of California. Artist's Space

Open submission

Artists Space maintains three separate exhibition spaces and holds 20 exhibitions per season (September-July). Exhibitions are curated by artists as well as the in-house Curator, and often follow a group show format. Submissions are reviewed by the in-house curator on an ongoing basis. Please allow several weeks for a response. All submissions must include IMAGES (this may be up to 20 slides, photocopies, photos, etc.) Please label images well. Video (1/2 inch VHS) and audio tapes are accepted in place of or in addition to other images. Also please include RESUME (must include name, address, and phone number) STATEMENT (A brief artist's statement or description of the work represented in the images) and SASE (please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Materials will not be returned unless an envelope with correct postage is included.) Mail submissions to: Curator, Artists Space, 38 Greene St., New York, NY 10013. Artists Space is also home to the Irving Sandler Artists File, an in-house, non-curated registry that provides artists with a centralized location to have their work viewed by the public. Residencies

LMCC/Workspace: 120 Broadway, NY

LMCC continues its residency program LMCC/Workspace on the 8th floor of 120 Broadway in space donated by Silverstein Properties. LMCC/Workspace: 120 Broadway is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines including painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation and new media. Artists must be living within reasonable distance from the studios during the residency term. LMCC organizes public programs each session, including a weekend-long Open Studio event at the close of the residency. Artists will be asked to make informal presentations of their work and to actively participate in public programs. There is no live space. Residency Dates: November 15, 2004-April 30, 2005. Artists' Fellowship

The Artists' Fellowship, Inc. is a private, charitable foundation that assists professional fine artists (painters, graphic artists, sculptors) and their families in times of emergency, disability, or bereavement. The Artists' Fellowship cannot aid every artist who applies, nor does it award scholarship funds or "fellowships" for study, schooling, or travel. The Ruth Chenven Foundation

The Ruth Chenven Foundation makes cash awards annually to artists and crafts persons engaged in or planning an art or craft project. Awards will be granted on the basis of artistic merit and financial need, and will not exceed $1,500. It is expected that applicants will be artists who have developed a body of work.
