IPCNY announces a call for new prints in preparation for New Prints 2003/Summer opening in mid-June and running through late July in our Chelsea space. We are requesting submissions of newly created fine art prints to be reviewed by our Selections Committee. Criteria for selection are as follows: Only original fine art (limited edition and unique) prints are eligible; reproductions are not acceptable. Selections will represent a broad diversity of sources, geographical and otherwise. Only prints completed in the past twelve months will be considered. Call for Photography: The Kiss: Men Kissing Men < Women Kissing Women

LLGAF announces its 2003 Gay and Lesbian Photo Biennial, The Kiss. The language of love, friendship, hate and all the subtle expressions between two people can be expressed in the kiss: eyes open, eyes closed, bodies touching, bodies apart, subtlety or with graphic and cruel violence, acceptance or rejection. Love, lust, hate, envy, comedy, tragedy are but a few of the ways in which our expressions are conveyed through the kiss. Those moments are often fleeting but with a camera the lifetime of a moment can last forever. The photographs in this show should reflect those moments as best the artist can capture them. Artists may submit up to six (6) slides, color copies or prints which will be returned only if the artist includes a SASE (NO CDs or DVDs). Carriage House Installation Proposal
Each year, the Islip Art Museum invites artists to submit proposals for installations in the Carriage House. The yearly deadline for submissions is April 15. Proposals are reviewed by a panel of artists, gallery and museum professionals, and selected works are exhibited in August through October. Artists receive fees and technical support. Our staff is happy to discuss your proposal and application. P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center annually awards studio work-space through its National and International Studio Program. Currently twelve studios are available at P.S.1 and nine at the Clocktower Gallery in lower Manhattan. P.S.1 produces an annual catalogue of the participants¹ work. Participants are also invited to open their studios to the public during the various major exhibitions opening throughout the year. The National studio artists are awarded rent-free studio space for one year at The Clocktower Gallery at 108 Leonard Street in lower Manhattan. ArTRAIN USA, the nation's only traveling art museum on a train, presents a contemporary Native American exhibition (April 2004-December 2007), open to recent works that use or respond to technology by Native American artists. All media will be considered, including digital, CD-ROM, and video, related to technology and/or the modernity of cultures. Artists interested in having their work considered should send resume, artist statement, slides or photographs of work and slides or pictures of previous installation if available. Call for Artist's Gardens Proposals

The Queens Museum of Art announces an open competition for the commission of five artists' gardens to be created for the exhibition Down the Garden Path: Artists' Gardens since 1960, opening Summer 2004. An historical exhibition based on the work of international artists from the 1960s-1990s will take place inside the museum. The newly commissioned gardens will be sited outdoors in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the Queens Botanical Garden. An initial group of ten artists or teams of artists will be selected in May 2003 to make proposals based on site visits and research. From these proposals five artists or teams of artists will be awarded commissions in September 2003. Planting will begin in Spring 2004 for a Summer 2004 presentation. The budget for each commissioned garden is $10,000. Artists: Please do not send proposals at this time. This is a request for qualifications only. Seeking artists with pain. A touring museum art exhibit from artists with chronic pain (with their art expressing some facet of the pain experience), is being planned to open in the United States in the fall of 2004. The exhibit is for visual arts and can include drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video, mixed media and digital art.
