PhenoSense GT
PhenoSense GT™ is a resistance test that combines three proven tests, PhenoSense™ HIV, GeneSeq™ HIV, and Replication Capacity (RC), to make up one complete picture of drug resistance. The combination test is performed from the same blood sample and is reported on one report form. The PhenoSense GT report places phenotypic, genotypic, and RC (also referred to as viral fitness) results side by side so that healthcare providers can select the best possible therapy for a person living with HIV.

Basically, PhenoSense GT looks at an individual's HIV from all possible ways so that the most effective treatment can be selected. PhenoSense GT uses advanced technology and offers consistency because both phenotypic and genotypic results come from the same blood sample.

How Results Are Reported
The PhenoSense GT report form includes both phenotypic and genotypic drug resistance information for all of the approved nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs), and protease inhibitors (PIs). Below is a sample PhenoSense GT report form to provide a better idea of how the drug resistance and RC information is reported.
