Mary and Michael


	Mary is Michael's mother. Michael had AIDS. When he died, his mother was empty. It was as if her life purpose had been undermined. Her own illnesses notwithstanding, she was a courageous and loving mother to this man.

	She couldn't understand a disease that took her son's hopes and his life simply because he had loved another man. None of it made sense to her.
