Elena fights for her life and gathers her two children to
her as if their presence will keep her alive. Rarely out
of her sight, they care for her and their home with daily assignments
that make home life seem quite normal to appearances.
Elena aches for "normalcy" and it is out of her
reach. A proud woman, she invites people in for lunch as
if to prove that she can still meet the tasks of daily life.
She takes to bed as soon as company leaves.
Her elder daughter keeps a straight "A" average
in school and her younger does her best to keep up, though it
is extra tough. She was born with HIV and suffers fast
advancing symptoms.
Elena is one tough mother.
