Alison's turbulent life was marked by extremes. Extremes
of love and passion. Extremes of drug use and street life.
Extremes of illness and decline.
As tough and caustic as she could be, no one who knew her
doubted her loyalty and sensitivity. Her addiction to heroin
and the street life that followed was only outdone by her dedication
to find recovery and to live well with AIDS.
She died clean and sober and left a significant volume of
writings for her two children and others who wanted to see her
version of the early AIDS years.
