| A conversation with Scott during which he talked about death, revealed a
great deal about him. |
 |
"I can't fully say that I'm not afraid to die - I just don't know.
I'm convinced that there's a plan. There's a reason for everything that
happens - why people come into our lives. . ."
"There's triumph after tragedy, I'm convinced. I'm glad I think
that way."
"My friends are so negative. My best friend says, 'I think you just
lie in the ground'. "I don't want him to think that way after I'm gone."
One day after Thanksgiving he watched On Golden Pond three times. |
| Soon after the day that Scott talked about these things, he became very
sick. He developed an AIDS related brain disease that left him paralyzed
and unable to speak. His brain remained clear as far as his doctors could
tell, for most of the time until his death in early December. |
