Memories of Eddie Living with AIDS A historic perspective on one man's journey This series of images represents one man's experience with AIDS. It does not represent the journey that others living with HIV/AIDS will necessarily follow.
Eddie lived courageously with his disease and wanted it to be chronicled in a way that would give people the opportunity to learn from his experience and help them to make decisions to avoid exposure to HIV. These photographs are Eddie's final project. We recognize now that a great deal of the suffering and pain that many people endured in the early research years of HIV is now more manageable. This is a very encouraging aspect of living with HIV. New information gathered from combination therapies and "cocktail" treatments has given incredible hope and immediate results to many many people. Eddie's journey, thankfully, is more historic than representative.
Let Eddie's life encourage and inspire yours. His message is one of hope and survival.
