Although this was the toughest period of his illness, Eddie was infuriated
that the disease had demanded so much of his strength.
As ill as Eddie was, he made some clear decisions that gave him back a higher
quality of life - something he wanted very much. Eddie decided that, rather
than live with nausea and other side effects, he would stop his chemotherapy
treatments and let the disease run its course.
Slowly, he came back from feeling desperately ill and started to talk about
enjoying the holidays with his family. It seemed a long time since he had
talked about the future. As unlikely as it seemed that Eddie would live
to see the holidays, everyone began to plan for Christmas!
