October
By early October, Eddie had begun to heal from his August surgery.
Recovery took longer than for a healthy person. His body was slow to regain
strength because of his AIDS. These photographs were taken in mid-October,
as Eddie was about to begin chemotherapy for the cancer that was continuously
growing in him.
This was when Eddie's mother would become his most supportive resource.
As close as they had been prior to this time, they were at this point, inseparable.
This was the beginning of the roughest time for Eddie. He stopped making
jokes about AIDS and began to speak deliberately and seriously about his
future.
For those who knew Eddie and counted on him to be strong, this was a sad
time.
