Isentress (Raltegravir)

The Details

Isentress (raltegravir or RAL) is an integrase inhibitor used to treat HIV/AIDS. It is approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of HIV infection in adults and children 2 years of age and older. It is listed in the DHHS HIV treatment guidelines as part of a preferred regimen for people starting HIV treatment for the first time, when taken in combination with Truvada.

Isentress

Adult single dose: Take one 400-mg tablet twice daily.

Restrictions:

  • Take Isentress by mouth, with or without food.
  • Always take Isentress in combination with other anti-HIV medicines.
  • Women should not breastfeed while on Isentress.
