What Is Herpes? Herpes simplex refers to a group of viruses that infect humans. Like herpes zoster (shingles, see Fact Sheet 509 ), herpes simplex causes painful skin eruptions. Itching and tingling are usually the first signs, followed by a blister that breaks open. The infection stays dormant in nerve cells. This is called "latency." are condoms that cover only the head of the penis equally as effective as regular condoms?

i read in one of your posts that HIV cannot penetrate intact skin but that it can penetrate the linings of the urethra. so my question is, since the condoms that just cover the head of the penis prevents access to the urethra are they as effective...
