i dont know about anyone else, but i would be 500% more sane if i could order my own blood tests. i dont see the harm in this... then i could check my cd4s periodically and at least have the comfort that they are not plummeting. i guess its an... Read more »

Hi Worried in New York,Non-FDA-approved HIV tests are non-approved for a reason. And that reason is often they are unreliable. I would strongly advise against using them, particularly because FDA-approved tests are readily available.To specifically... Read more »

Mail order home test versus Elisa

Hi Doctor,I was on the computer not long ago and saw these hiv self tests advertised which takes about 5 minutes to get a result. Everything is done at home by the person taking the test.Anyway out of curiosity I ordered one and it tested positive....

You need to be very careful about utilizing any tests sold through the mail or net. They are probably not FDA approved, and as such are unregulated and probably inaccurate. These tests are to be distinguished from other "home" tests like... Read more »
