This should not be a problem at all. Although it is true that the absorption of Kaletra is a bit better with food, the margin of safety (or therapeutic index) with Kaletra is so high under most circumstances that you have a lot of flexibility... Read more »

Thanks for your answer. Next problem :- if my wife was to take her kaletra, epivir and zerit straight after a light meal what would the effect be on the zerit and epivir? I guess what i need to know is what's best for this combination ? thanks...

Kaletra without food

My wife has been on Haart for 6 months Epivir, Zerit and Kaletra and VL has dropped from 361000 to approx 1000 . She has a small meal at approx 9am then has Meds at 11am again she has a light meal at about 7pm and meds at 11pm. Is this ok?...

In general, it is better to have some food with Kaletra. Ritonavir (part of the Kaletra combinatin), has 13% higher blood levels if taken with food than on an empty stomach, and more important, is better tolerated. For Kaletra, it is as a combined... Read more »

My cousin has hiv-type 1 and we are giving him Kaletra but it is giving him a masive diharrea and he got a cut on his rectum.
