I found out that i had this co-infection(hiv,hep-c) in 2002.My doctor says that it is very hard to treat,however with sticking to my meds;this includes hiv meds, and interferon,i now have the hep-c under control after 30 weeks of a 48 week... Read more »

hepc treatment caused cirrhosis

My Husband went through Pegasys / Copegus treatment in 2004-2005 at that time his liver biopsy showed stage 2 grade 2 after completing the therapy his liver enzymes climbed so the ran tests they found out he had an enlarged spleen and fatty liver...

alcohol and hepc

I recently went through interferon treatment after six months was non detected. I drank some alcohol after 2 months went back for blood test. I came back detected hepc was it a false positive or did alcohol bring it back?...

It sounds as though you relapsed after the hepatitis C treatment. This can happen and means the infection is still there. Re-treatment in the future is something to discuss with your doctor. This happens even with the best medications for hepatitis... Read more »
