i came to know that hiv virus dies in air exposure,and if there is hiv+ some blood on razor blade or tattoo pin,how can then person be effected..and it is considered as the low risk factor???..why.

I had been sharing my toothbrush and razor blade with a house-mate of mine and i recently susect that he might be HIV+ and at times i do bleed after shaving. Please tell me what are my chance of contracting AIDS if he is really a carrier?Thank you...

Do not share your toothbrush or razor with anyone. Hepatitis and other infections can be spread this way, as well as HIV. Don't take any dumb chances. And if you're really worried, I suggest you get tested for HIV, hepatitis B & C,... Read more »

Even if your roomate is infected with HIV, it is highly unlikely that HIV would be transmitted to you by sharing a razor. Transmission through sharing a razor is not a likely event; there is no actual evidence that HIV has been transmitted this way.... Read more »

Dr. McGovern,My mom was just confermed with hep c. In the past I have used her razor, and dont beleive to have cut myself with it. We also have shared soap as well. I plan on getting checked. What are the chances that I get hep c from those?...
