I'm not a veterinarian so I do not know if there is a way to test your kitten's stools for toxoplasmosis. The best thing you can do to protect yourself is to wear rubber or plastic gloves when you clean her litterbox and wash your hands... Read more »

I keep having toxplasmosis come back several times. I have been tested and re-tested for HIV and I'm HIV negative. The doctors tell me they don't understand why it keeps reoccurring and I don't know what to do. I have several lesions...

You may have a more subtle immune deficiency than HIV/AIDS. Have you seen an immunologist experienced in immune deficiency diseases? Recurrent toxo without HIV is unusual, and you should be checked further for other underlying problems.... Read more »

I think the chance for recovery is very good. It is important to have started the medications for toxoplasmosis and get control of that infection. HIV medications should be started very soon after that. Although the CD4 count is very low, the CD4%... Read more »
