Tonsils are a type of immune/lymphoid tissue. Most HIV+ patients who undergo a tonsillectomy do fine. The gut is lined with lymphoid tissue so removing the tonsils doesn't significantly impact body defenses in general. KH... Read more »

My tonsils are swollen, with a lump on the left one. The right one has a couple of white spots. Is this a sign of HIv. It's been a month, since a unprotected vaginal encounter (Broken Condom). I'm losing my mind............. Cheers from the U.K Read more »
