Taking Viracept off my regimen, once undetectable VL is reached

I started taking viracept/sustiva/combivir about 4 weeks ago with CD4=240 and VL >900k. My doc suggests to take viracept off my regimen, if my VL reaches "undetectable" within a few months. What do you think of this strategy?...

It is more common to do the reverse. That is, start someone on a 3 drug combination like combivir and nelfinavir and then add sustiva if you did not become undetectable by 12 or so weeks. This is something called intensification (when you add an... Read more »

YOu don't indicate how long you have been on the regimen. First take it with food. If you are taking other meds, space them apart from you HIV meds. These symptoms usually go away over the first few weeks of treatment. If you have to stay on... Read more »

I am confused about which, if any, fruits I can eat with my doses of Viracept & Combivir. I know I am to take Viracept "with a meal, or light snack," but I am under the impression that some fruits, grapefruit for example, can interfere...

I'm 25 I have been living with HIV since June 5th 2001. I've been taking Trizivir and Viracept for the past 4 months. The side effects have been a major pain I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!
