Can you get it (HIV TRANSMISSION BETWEEN TWO HIV NEGATIVES, 2010)

Okay, so say youre two males, about to have sex, and neither of you have aids, can you still get aids from anal? Im confused from what friends have told me, as each one contradicts the others answer. Of course, protection would always be used!!
