Could certain factors influence seroconversion to take longer than the normal six months window period such as extreme stress/anxiety, cancer/chemotherapy, or becoming infected with another STD or Hepatitis at the same point as becoming infected...

I doubt stress or STD coinfections would be a factor. Anything that makes B cells ( cells that make antibodies), or T cells and macrophages (cells that process foreign antigens) dysfunctional could affect seroconversion. Cancers, chemotherapy,... Read more »

Does exercising influence a HIV test result?

Dear Dr David Wohl, I took a HIV test 8 and a half months after a possible exposure and it came out negative. But before the test, I was exercising for about 10 minutes plus and the duration between the exercise and the test was around 45 minutes....
