Even if your roomate is infected with HIV, it is highly unlikely that HIV would be transmitted to you by sharing a razor. Transmission through sharing a razor is not a likely event; there is no actual evidence that HIV has been transmitted this way.... Read more »

Do not share your toothbrush or razor with anyone. Hepatitis and other infections can be spread this way, as well as HIV. Don't take any dumb chances. And if you're really worried, I suggest you get tested for HIV, hepatitis B & C,... Read more »

Your instincts are right. It is highly unlikely that HIV was transmitted to you this way. You would need to use your boyfriend's razor shortly after he used it, and even then I would say the risk of infection is low. HIV dies within minutes... Read more »

This may sound like a silly question, but I just found out my former roommate is HIV+, and it got me thinking. He would always use my toothbrush and razors, even though I asked him not to. I always cut myself when I shave, and my gums sometimes...
