bDNA (branched DNA, Chiron Corp) is NOT PCR. It is a different technology than PCR and measures HIV RNA in plasma. DNA PCR (Roche) measures HIV DNA inside blood cells. The new Abbott test is not approved yet.MH... Read more »

We don't have enough information yet to definitively answer your question. If infection were present and suppressed by therapy, then 1.5 weeks after stopping therapy should be long enough to see a detectable viral load (RNA). That conclusion is... Read more »
