HIV+ and suspected HCV infection

I'm HIV+ and have been pulled off all meds because a routine LFT came back abnormal. I've had twice weekly LFT's since. These are the results since stopping my HIV meds:ALT 540, 394, 445, 422, 419 ALP 197, 157, 156, 154, 164.I'm now waiting for HCV...

Hepatitis C genotype 1a

I read where interferon is not as strong as a treatment with this genotype. I was recently diagnosed and have had for roughly three years.I am a little worried as I read more and more online that this genotype is the most difficult to treat.

Extraordinarily high. I would consider going on treatment and getting a four week viral load to see if you are also a "rapid virologic responder". Then your chances are greater than 90 percent.Best of luck. Read more »
