What is the difference between Pegsys and Peg Intron

Hi Doctor Dieterich: Is it true that Pegintron and Pegsys are the same! I was told by my doctor that they are exactly the same except one is made in the US and one made in Swiss. Are there any difference?Thank you sir for your time....

They are pretty close. Pegasys has a longer half life of about 75 hours, versus 54 hours for Peg Intron. Pegasys is excreted mostly in the liver while Peg Intron mostly in the kidney. The overall success rates for the two are almost exactly the same... Read more »
