I am not sure what the genesis of your question is regarding HIV preventative treatment in newborns of HIV infected mothers. But giving such HIV treatment to neonates would be considered standard of care in the appropriate situation.... Read more »

Could a child born to HIV+ Mother be HIV+ at 8 years without SYMPTOMS?

An HIV+ mother had a newborn who was put on AZT in 1995. Could that child be HIV+ now?If so, would they be tested yearly by regular pediatrician?...
