Anti body test for hepatitis c positive once symptoms start

Hello, I was just wondering if it is true that once you start to have symptoms of hepatitis c, if you have an antibody test it will be positive if you have it?? Thanks!...

In acute hepatitis C, in the earliest stages, the virus can be present and antibodies may not have yet formed. So I would not rule out the possibility of acute HCV infection based on symptoms without an antibody response. I would check for a HCV RNA... Read more »

(1)CDC standards for needlesticks? (2)regarding needlesticks, how can you get the needle apparatus fluid residue tested for HIV, hepatitis and any other suspected ID's?

I am a health care professional. Our hospital has a contridicting policy that states that after a needle stick from a patient, we and the patient are to be tested for HIV. If the patient is in fact HIV positive, then a viral load is to be done. Only...

ALL human blood tests HIV positive. THat's why it has to be diluter 51 times just for an antibody test.
