You should discuss with your HIV specialist whether you need a DEXA scan if you haven't had one already to determine the bone caclium status. If you have severe osteoporosis then more then caclium may be needed (such as alendronate). Other... Read more »

There are a number of reports out about an apparent increased rate of osteopenia/osteoporosis in the setting of HIV and its treatment. Limited data suggests there may be a link but whether any particular drug is involved is unknown at this time.... Read more »
